Widowmaker Standard
Saturday August 30
85'x90#
Smooth beach winds, clear skies
Met a 9-year-old kid on the beach who seemed fascinated by what the kite was able to do. I ended up teaching him how to fly. An hour and a half later, his mother came over, introduced herself and thanked me for giving her son a chance to fly the kite. He was begging her for more time with the kite when she insisted that it was time for them to go home.

Transformer SSUL (mine)

Flew in near no wind today , had some fun.  I've added 1.5g to each wing tip and now I can one pop yoyo.  I like the other aspects as well with the additional weight, I think it's worth it.

Got about 45 min in before the wind completely left and the rain started.

Some poor 6 year old girl at the park was upset as it was her birthday party and the typical gorgeous Seattle weather was definitely absent today!  I'm sure she will be fine - I tried to help her mom out by pointing out that the company, not the weather, makes the party, but she wasn't buying it!  :)

Rev B-Series full vent

80'x90# (slightly space constrained today)
Winds...uh...strong enough for a 4 wrap frame
Saw someone at the park whom I had met there before and helped out a little.  This time he brought 2 friends.  Spreading the joy of kiting. :)

Every other week I fly through DFW and have a 2 hour layover. Big airport. Always some corner (large, high ceiling corner) available for a bit of flying.

Tekken SUL
Sunday August 31st  10 am till noon.
103 F.

Light winds  practicing roll ups and JL.  Good success with JL while walking backwards, when the wind dropped.  Lots of 540's,  lazy Susans,  and ground work during dead spots.  Reflexs shot after 2 hours in the heat, returned home happy, but wife was not. A cold shower and then work on the honey due list.

Two weeks ago at the beach in Ocean City, NJ before heading back home: Vented Rev 1. Wind speed had to be 15-20 mph off the ocean. I had to lean back to counter the pull on the kite. I prefer duals but quads can be really fun too.

Tuesday, September 2nd, 6-8pm

Winds: West at 4 mph diminishing, but steady.
Temp: Too Hot.
Density Altitude: 3000 ft, at least.
Humidity: Too high, Sweat won't evaporate, body in an infinite sweat loop. Soaked.
Kite: Skyburner Solus, Prism QPRO SUL, then Skyburner WM UL (this kite goes much lower than the QPRO SUL,  BTW).
Interested onlookers?: Yes, one high schooler.  Let him fly the WM. He's pretty good and he really, really likes to fly it. So,  I make the standard kite recommendations and then loan him my HQ Shadow, indefinitely.
Enjoyment factor:  Great evening, five stars.

Last 7 days been flying Tekken SUL in light winds and temps above 100 F working on JL and pitch tricks.

Forced to change flying field due to reseeding.   Now next to a kids water playground.  We are learning from each other.

Send time most days kneeling so kids can grab the straps and fly their first stunt kite.

I learned from the kids to get soaked to cool off fron the heat.  Yes it works very well

Half Moon Bay

Overcast but sweet, sweet wind

4-7mph ocean breeze

Perfect overlap wind to fly both of my new Mambas  :P

Flew the UL on 100' 90# and the Std on 75'. Carved around and danced to music with the UL and ran through my range of tricks on the Std.

Can't wait for a sunny day to see they lovelies back-lit!

Spectra Sports Trix Pro, flown Monday 6-8  knot winds.
Not quite enough wind to unleash its obnoxious noise, but it was buzzing a bit in turns.
It will do a surprising number of newer tricks, though it is extremely snaggy and needs careful tending of slack to avoid The Walk.  :-X

Not really flying too much. I've only flown three times this month for a total of maybe 90 minutes.

I may be enjoying myself too much, but that's the point. Even 30 minutes a week with a kite is living the good life.

I flew my ABS super vent yesterday in a school field. Must of held an inverted hover for almost 20 seconds so I am learning something. Had the mid vent set up as well and swapped between the two to feel the differences.

Really enjoy those kites.
