Title: Quick Favor Needed - speed test
Post by: lummas on January 21, 2010, 05:25 PM
Hi All,

Have been working on a new company website and want to get a couple of benchmark numbers.  I would really appreciate the help of my kite friends here.  All I need a few of you to do is to go to:

www.paihwq.com (http://www.paiwhq.com)

And note how long it takes the page to load.  And then just post on here for me the type of connection you have (and speed if you know) and how long it took for the page to fully load.

I can tell you for me it takes under 3 seconds!

Thanks,

Mark

Well it's always good when you screw up the instructions huh!!  It should have said:

www.paiwhq.com (http://www.paiwhq.com)

Sorry about that.  BTW - if you can tell me where you are physically that would be useful too.

Thanks,

Mark

Fantastic guys, this is very helpful.  I wonder if anyone outside the US will be able to provide any numbers, as that would be useful too.

Thanks,

Mark

Less then a second, 3.5 mbs wireless internet service over wireless g home network. Chico, Ca, Win XP Pro, IE7, 1.8 core 2 Duo Centrino.

Inside the site it takes 1-2 seconds to start loading a new link, but once the navigation begins they all loaded under 1 sec.

It's taking forever to load.  :(

But then again I run NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722) so that's to be expected.  :P

With you temporarily whitelisted I get just enough time to see "Loading..." before it is.

Firefox Portable 3.5.7, Vista 32-bit, Speedtest.net result (http://www.speedtest.net/result/690638951.png). Location is Vihtavuori, Finland (that's in Europe)  ;D.

Mike.
