hi guy's wondering if there is any reason not to keep the stabilization feature on my camera on full time ? besides maybe battery life?? thanx KO (pics not vids)

Turn off the stabilization when you use the flash and/or a tripod.

That's what the manual says on my dSLR.  :)

as you know mike that shouldnt be a prob more like the jitters from to much caffeine john thanks i started reading my manual about 4 months ago should be finished by the time i am ready for a new camera  thanks again KO

Some cameras have considerably more shutter release or shot to shot lag with stabilization running. Some camera have poorer image quality with stab on. Just depends on the camera. Look yours up on those digiphoto review sites where they pick apart every feature and take a bazillion test shots.

Stab is definitely useful shooting video.

Hmmm... off when using flash, hadn't heard that, but it makes perfect sense since you should be 15 - 25 feet from your subject with the built in flash and probably won't be using the big zoom, plus the flash stops action. Learned something new  :)

Manual? What's a Manual?  :D

I use mine with flash sometimes but my stabilization is in the lens, not the camera. It's always off on the tripod though...

thanx hadnt thought of that mine is in the cam and yes it does have a 15* zoom it just seemed like a good idea to leave on as i am usually walking around when i shoot .. as stated makes sense, i will go with johns  ideas as he does seem to know a little about photography LOL ps only three more weeks before i get thru the manual
