The person that you need to ask to is Tempest. His main kite is the SD Light and he has a Fearless coming. He tried my Fearless STD and then...You already know the story.  :D

I have a couple of Sea Devils, and recently got a Fearless Tattoo and Fearless vented light. Awesome kites, but take a little getting used to if you're used to a Sea Devil. You've probably seen all the videos, in the right hands, the capabilities are amazing. I'm sure you won't have a hard time finding someone flying a Fearless in Seattle.

Hats off to Lam's artistic eye ! I let him decide the colors, because it's hard for me to make a decision. Well, I had it down to 2 choices, and let him pick. I'm very happy with the results, especially after missing that all red Sea Devil that went through the swap meet. And it's perfect, because it matches my face after I've been out flying it for a couple hours...  ;D

I really love that red color!
Funny, last winter I contacted Lam about getting a Fearless and I wanted a red one, but he said he didn't want to make a red one because the applique wouldn't stand out.   I think it looks great!

The kite is quite a looker.

Lots of pressure - you gotta fly well when you are using that one because everyone will be looking!  :)

FINALLY, FINALLYthe FEARLESS arrived  :D  :D   Her spicey tan was stunning and she was just  ??? GEORGEOUS . The weather was very cloudy and overcast and rains were expected. Winds were in the 20-25 mph with gusts in the 35s  :o, so to relieve the twitching of the muscles, had to go out  :'(, Just had to go and fly  :D  :D  :D .
The Fearless was fearless coming up against the gusts of winds, but being a " Light " , her 3pt frame said to go to the edge of the wind window and play with me  :P  :P . She was wonderful ....  cascades, JLs , backspins  ,wap do waps and when she went on her back   :P   :P  fades, multi-lazies ....... then i felt a few drops of moisture on my head , and i decided that on her maiden flight , this was enough, enough , enough !!!  :D  :D  :D   so i packed up and went home before we both got drenched.  :D  :D  :D

I need to find some $$$ fast.  :D :D :D
I'm heading out to get the Lotto Max. If I won, I will buy everyone here a Fearless VL or VS. I mean everyone here.  ;)

I see peace coming.  :P

After seeing the Fearless VL, I feel like I need to eat a Mango urgently.  :D :D :D

Nice Mango !
I considered both yellow and orange for mine, too bad I didn't think of a combination like that, it looks sharp !
Glad to hear you're getting along with it, you're further up the learning curve than me, I'm still tuned to the Sea Devils and having a hard time getting the Fearless feel...

Gusts to 35 mph and a 3PT frame??

I'd have trouble standing, let alone doing tricks in 35 mph winds.

Nice looking kite though.  :)

Oh dear goddess let's not start that again shall we.  ::) It's caused enough trouble already.

We use km., not mile here in Canada.  ::)
35km. = 21.74799 miles

Don't panic. There is no sign of War of the Kite World here.  :)

Well possibly but then his quote would read:-

Winds were in the 20-25 mph with gusts in the 22s

which makes no sense to 5 decimal places. He was talking about mph.

Mike.

Very nice kite tempest,
That color combo looks good, I just got a light as well, but not the vented model. Just love it!! I also got a second set of lower spreaders in 5 pt, this gives the kite a little more strength in higher winds. I am thinking about the regular vented model as well, as this will cover the wind range well.Enjoy your new Fearless!!!! ;) ;) ;)

He just mixed up the km/mile thing. I was watching the TV weather report with him in that day. The wind was like 26km and gust to 37km.  ;)

John,
I live about half way between Kite Hill and the trestle.................Pm or e-mail and we can probably set up some time to meet (somewhere) and I'll let you have a go with what we got..........(Caution: we only have a standard vent so we can't fly in anything over thirty ;) ;)  LOL )
That didn't come out right.......We have everything but the light vent. (we should be able to fly down to a negative half mile per hour, then............. ???    LMLs)

This coming week I have off sure isn't looking good, but at least we can touch base about our schedules...

thanks,
Jim

Must 86 it was good meeting you in Wildwood this weekend. Next time I will try the Feraless Light. Indeed the Tatto takes some time to adjust from the Sea Devils. I am sticking with the SDs for personal reasons ... but the Tatto is my go to kite in very low winds for recreation. As we discussed it sits back deep in the backflip so JLs to the fade position requires some adjusting but backspins of course and Insanes are real easy. Mine came with 3pt lower spreader but framed 2pt as I told Lam I would ALSO want to fly it up to 10 mph. Even with its smaller size it has much potential. It does give a new meaning to trick flying in an SUL environment. Still working it ...  ;D ;D ;D

Hey APJ...
Likewise, always great to meet forum members in person. I think both the FLs that I have, the SUL and the vented light have a different feel from all my other kites when they're on their backs. The flipover can be troublesome, but it's just a matter of time and getting used to it. A few people that flew the vented light had the same trouble as me, and they were much more experienced pilots, no doubt. Then there was another guy that came over with a beer in his hand and asked to give the lines a tug. Well, right off the bat, he did just about every trick that I knew to exist, no getting used to anything ! Most people that I flew with were yank & spank fliers, and I like to try to take a smooth, subtle input approach. It seems to work with the Tattoo, so I'm going with it...
