Title: Stunt Kite Tricks To Homemade Rock and Roll
Post by: Tom P on July 28, 2010, 09:11 AM

I fly my favorite stunt kite to my own music that i composed and played on my own, utilizing synthesizers. It was a very hot and humid day... over 90 degrees... but i needed to get out of the house to take a break from installing laminate flooring (which my wife had me doing during my vacation)!  ::)  i enjoyed it a lot (i.e., the kite flying), even with the excessive heat. It sure beats installing laminate flooring!  ;)

i used my favorite kite: the Sea Devil Light.  i'm still using my old Sea Devil Light with the nylon sail; i need to switch over to the new one that i have with Icarex.

Nice vid.  Music is reminds me a bit of Tangerine Dream circa "Le Parc" album.

Well done, the music is a perfect compliment to the video.  I really enjoyed.

For whatever it's worth, you've got your aspect ratio fouled up. Pretty sure that can be allowed for during your Youtube upload.

Nice, I like seeing the flier along with the kite sometimes, didn't even notice the aspect ratio until I saw Randy's post.

Really enjoyable video, and it works great with the music. Did you put together the musical piece specifically for the flying ? It seems to go together really well. Keep the vids coming...

Thanks guys!  Actually, the music wasn't developed for the kite flying at all.  i composed it years ago before i ever flew kites.  At one point a recording company wanted to cut an album with me... but it took over a year to get the songs copyrighted... and by then they lost interest.  Oh well... fame is over-rated; i enjoy my job of working as a teacher with the multiply handicapped; it helps people in a more significant way, i think.

i haven't been flying much at all this year... and i need to get back into it again.  It's been so terribly hot and humid here in Illinois this year... and i've been getting lazy; but i will get back into it.  i'll take a break from installing flooring today, as the winds are supposed to be good... and i am totally sick of floors.   ::)  i got the bedroom done, and will now start on the family room... but i'm sore from not usually doing actual labor.  Instead of just looking down at the floors, i'll be looking skyward, at least for a while.

Regarding aspect ratio, i recorded the thing in 4:3.  Doing so probably helped with the upload time; our wi-fi here sucks... and i was truly in shock when the thing uploaded without a glitch.
