Title: Sandpiper 93 Chris Matheson spar lengths
Post by: Japes on August 29, 2010, 08:49 AM
Hi

I've just picked up a some old kites and am trying to get them back in to flying order. They have definately been well flown.

3 Sandpiper 93 kites, 2 framed in 5.5mm carbon 1 framed in Beeman 14 so presumably I have 2 Std kites and 1 UL.

I have cleaned the sails up as best I can as there seems to be oil stains on some panels and a repair to one sail.

My main problem is that the spar lengths seem to be different from kite to kite and I'm guessing that over the years, bits have been broken and replaced.

I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction for the lengths of all the carbon used in these kites as I would very much like to get two of them flying together as a pair.

Many thanks

Eucalyptus oil is excellent for dissolving other oil stains in ripstop.  It not only washes out the other oil, it leaves no trace of itself either.
