It WILL work.  I have made several, and they all work.   ;)

Sigh!   I do wish I could understand, or somehow empathise with, those circular kites!   There's something very beautiful and appealing about them, as a concept, especially when they appear in a video that's pumping up some special kite event.
I've never seen one 'in the flesh', so to speak.   So the video was especially interesting to me, as a newbie.
BUT  -
OK, once they're 'up', what then?  If they remain 'up', that is.  The video seems to suggest they sometimes like to run along the ground-level part of the window.  So what do you do with them then?
Is the challenge just in the matter of getting them up?  Or does the flyer get most of his pleasure from just seeing the darn thing acually getting up there and flying?

Do they just rotate in one direction, and twist your (single) line up tight until you can't do anything with it any more?

Please be understanding.  I'm a newbie, and I'm asking newbie questions!  I want to understand!!!  Ring-shaped kites are very unusual (to me!).  And they're exciting.  They do look pretty!
But what fun does the flyer get from flying one?

They can be flown on their own when they do they stay on the ground.  If you use a lifter kite then they stay off the ground.  There is a swivel where all the bridle lines meet so that helps prevent excessive twisting.  The direction they spin depends on how you make them but once made will only spin in one direction.  As far as what I get out of it I just enjoy watching it spin I think it looks pretty neat.

60" wing span on the diamond kite just big enough to keep it up.

Greeb, the attraction when "flown" without a lifter is that walking across the ground and the bouncing. When anchored by themselves they are more of a ground display.
