Norm, I've been using Roxio Creator 2010 Pro, a little bit of a learning curve, but does just about anything you want to do with Pictures and Videos, it also has a load to feature to just about anything, For video editting I also use Cyberlink powerdirector.

It looks to me like Roxio will output MP4 files which are fine for YouTube,

Hey Norm, when you get ready to put together this slid video or any other video and have any questions or help on this, just get hold of me, I'll help you as much as possible, I'm no expert but have put together a few videos, Setup account with both Youtube and Vimeo, Vimeo is a little less strict on music copyrights, The videos below I put together from numerous video clips, added transitions add beginnings and end frames with captions. I have also added links here on what the formats stand for. (mp4) (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_MP4)   (mp4) (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_the_abbreviation_MPEG4_stand_for)
