Title: Black Pearl - Test Fly
Post by: dihongshao2000 on December 25, 2011, 10:05 PM
Had a chance to test fly the Black Pearl Standard at Kite Hill Tom is demoing.  I always liked BPs simple yet striking panel layout and never thought I would have a chance to land my hands on one of these.  It is a wonderful trick kite and allowed me to trick everything I know of with my sloppy inputs.  Tom was even kind enough to film my flying with my new Iphone4S.  The flying experience is definitely one of the best Christmas gifts I had.  Many thanks to Tom and everyone else who got the kite in the US.  I am thinking of getting one...;) pending on the approval of my finance department ;) An orange BP UL would be perfect for painting our Seattle gray sky.

Happy Holidays!!!  D

The 'Pearl is one sweet flying kite. Got to fly the UL a lot over summer. Loved it!
Enjoy your new Iphone, and happy holidays :)

Is the black pearl available somewhere in the U.S.? or are people purchasing them and having them shipped?  Just curious...

No where in the US, sadly, but I noticed that a certain kite shop in Ireland was recently offering them with a discount and free shipping which takes the sting out of overseas buying.

I've had the pleasure of flying a bp ul and thought it was very capable and fun to fly.
