Title: 1st Annual Surf City USA Kite Festival - CANCELLED
Post by: DaveS on March 26, 2012, 09:52 PM
It is official, the city of Huntington Beach will hold its first annual (actually it's about it's 15th, but since the Kite Party Replaced the Festival, we are calling it the 1st) Kite Festival September 8th and 9th. Mr. Steve Bone, the President of the Conference and Visitor's Bureau wants this event to (eventually) be the biggest kiting event in the world. It will take place in front of the Hyatt Resort, and will probably take up 1/2 mile of beach. There will be all sorts of awesome things going on. Make your plans now!

JUNE 15TH UPDATE: Sorry, due to circumstances beyond my control, this event is currently on hold. I'm sorry.

Okay, but you can't have more than 4 of these a year.  :)

Title: Re: 1st Annual Surf City USA Kite Festival (or Extravagana?)

This is it...aint no more. And I'm thinking we might have to call it an "Extravaganza" or "Expo" to avoid use of the "F" word, as George Halpin so kindly pointed out.

Fantastic Dave.  Count us in.  If you need any help with anything, we'd be more than happy to chip in.

How cool.....another local event!

Take care,

Is there a T shirt?

on a more serious note, can't possibly be the best kite event in the world. we already have one of those ;)

Sorry, but this event is currently on hold. This decision has nothing to do with me, and I will just leave it at that. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone.

So, so sad to see this one called off.  To have another large event so close to home would have been fantastic and Dave put so much in to this.  Dave, thanks for all the hard work anyway.  Let's just stick to KP which we know and love.

Thanks

Mark
