The wind range?

jk. I know it's an indoor. I'll bet you'll tell us, Rob. C'mon, c'mon...  ;)   :D

(getting my emails?)

yep...got yours...get mine? :)

video to be taken in a little bit...

this one has more framing than the pterodactyl so i would put the higher end of the range around 5-6 for active flying....you could stack these as wild children on a branching line for even higher winds (karl and sara do a branching line for the small pterodactyls in 10mph and they are zipping all over the place)...

first look....
looks like i am in the savannah of Gloucester Mass......

first flight of the Longbottom 6-81 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdzszMbYR9I#ws)

neat things....the spine only comes down about 2/3rds of the kite...and so the bottom ends of the wing rods cross over each other and push out the bottom points...so..with the spine not there with tension a valley is formed between these two rod ends...and that gets the kite to track on a rail!

very floaty....i am going to add a small swivel to the pigtail on mine....all forward movement is great....
it was flying comfortably in no winds and handled the 2-3mph gusts i was getting too.....

it is an active single line.....like the pterodactyl, but with better flight (where as the pterodactyls have more personality!)

In the video it looks like a leaf on a string

Is there any video of any attempt at a glide ?

Any thought on compararison to a  Horvath Ninja. Or a Emong ?

Thank you

The 6-81 is not much of a glider....not meant to be...it is more designed for quick turns and effortless climbing....

Thank you

So more like  Bai Se Hue Die

Shape looks like they may have similar flight characteristics

Well...i asked Stephen Hoath a while back about where the design for the Bai came from....he told me that he and Karl worked together on it.........
(the weird thing is that Karl denied that to me when i asked him about it)....
I have flown a Bai and the 6-81 is much better...lighter...bigger...better flyer....better floats....slower movements...can take more wind....
