really nice video.  I really enjoy flying when the wind is out of the east or southeast late at night with the sunset.  She fly's like a Pro Dancer .. Nice even tracking and smooth flying.  The beauty is when you hit the sun in the background.  The color changes.  I love that part of it the most.  I am sure others have been in your shoes also.  If not search for a beautiful spot low wind and a Sul.  Life sometimes doesn't get better than that...

I really enjoyed it ... I 've been there so many times.  This video will be one of my favorites.   :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

I can't fly tonight I have an appointment.  But it is one of those nights...  I'll watch your video again.

P.S.- Does the kite have extra small stand off's on the wing tips like a Pro Dancer ??

It fly so much like a PD... When mine goes on her back it's almost impossible to get her out of the turtle unless your PAWS...  Done it a few times but more by chance....  :D :D :D

A very nice picture, at least i think so :)

vertigo: always makes me happy if people like my kites :)
Never flown a PDSUL, so i can't compare them.
The spectre has small winglets to increase the wing area on the wingtips, not full blown standoffs like the PDSUL.

And yeah, i did build the kite extra for those ultra low wind days where you just want to hangout, fly and relax in the kite-zen.

New favorite phrase...

Vertigo's wife <------ Honey were are you going ???

Vertigo <----- I am going to 'the kite-zen'  :D :D

Truth be said never defined any better.  The mental state of mind and the relaxation is beyound explaination to someone who has not done it.  There are many Nirvana.  This sport probably offers a few more than most.
The Kite-zen.

I am sure others fell the same... Denny's photos of his Hugo by the ocean.  Come On what sport offers that moment in time.  Denny captured it in all it's radiant beauty... a I wish I was there moment.

This video speaks to all of us who have shared that moment in time.  Fun thing is that moment can last a day or a few days in a row.

( I'd sure like to hear some feed back on this topic) ;)

The difference is pretty much that it is the final production ready version now :) And no custom rods. Just breeze rods.
Still only clocks in at around 80 grams for the full size.

Just under 4 oz.  That should be the standard for calling a kite a SUL ... A 4-5 oz range.

Well, just under 4oz is 2.82oz in this case :)

My personal scala for classification for a full size kite is
0-100 grams XUL
100-200grams SUL
200-300 grams UL
300-400grams standard
400+ heavy

Conversion Weight Factors:

1 oz = 28.35 grams (close but not exact)

1 baggie = 3 grams

1 nickel = 5 grams

1 nickel baggie costs $400  :)

Beautiful kite by the way.

Its a fullsize kite, 2.5m Wingspan. Custom work yes, but if someone is serious about wanting one of their own. I can be persuaded :)
