Funny, I just looked for it on his web site and it was nowhere to be found.
Not even a mention of it.

Clearly there are those of us with forensic skills in these matters.

The specs for the Superfly show

239 gms (including 19 gm weight)

That's 8.4 oz with weight and 7.7 oz without tail weight.

For a 7.25 foot kite that sounds more like a UL than a standard.

Very interesting (or a typo?)......

Same weight as a DS UL.  Framing similar to a DS standard though.

Wider wing span than DS, but higher aspect as well so LE lengths probably not dissimilar.

Even allowing for yoyo stoppers than roll bars and I'm guessing a 5mm US, 238g is a bit lower than I would have expected.

Everyone needs more kites.

It's the answer to the question of the universe (not 42).

Has anyone inquired about getting the extra panel filled with the center color?
That will drive me nuts. :-)

Customs not available.  That's the cool bit anyway; if the centre panel was solid it would look too retro. YMMV. ;)

I just tilt my laptop until the horizon is level.  ;)

OK my monitor is wedged on the right leg now  ;)
The problem is now my texts spill over the left side of the windows and I keep losing info...

OK, enough kidding. The picture is great!

This little Soopa Fly with a modified turbo bridle, spine weight is  "SOOPA DOOPA little flying machine that sparkled in the sun...(see those flashy little sail inserts near the nose.) Really beautiful against a bright sun and deep blue ski.

Sketch,

While I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Soopa Fly,

your double reply for the kite shop about 100 miles from you

is a bit tacky. Although thanks for not inserting a link.  :)

soopa fly is an awesome kite....the prismatex material eventually cracked like mad though.....built a couple of 6 kite stacks of these back in the day...

TACKY? HOLD ON A SEC. :) Pehaps you may not know..Kathy Goodwind is no longer in the Kite Business..also the Soopa Fly is also no longer available?
I WAS SIMPLY MENTIONING  that she and Todd were the first designer and builder of this little kite and as you can see neither the name or spelling is quite the same but most of all  the SOOPA FLY has not been made  or available..since------??? the 1990's. I put that little jab in about the spelling that MIKEEE IS SO SERIOUS ABOUT?
Chill...time??

Always appreciate the information.

Although the dual post for the "other kite" still

seems odd to me. But then I've been told I'm

a bit odd myself.

So whos got some new photos/videos?
I know a few are heading this way or are here already on this side of the pond.

Also, can anyone confirm or deny the comment in the review on the Superfly the the kite does not do well on inland winds?

Thats all I got here. :)

I think most of us are in the same position in that kites are on order but awaiting delivery.

Having 'spoken' to a few people before going ahead and ordering, the general perception in the UK is that the SF doesn't have any more of an issue with variable inland winds than any other kite.

Chris Goff's local flying site is tree lined (see the Superfly teaser vid) and if it had performed poorly there it would have gone back to the drawing board.

Tim Benson has shaved approximately 20g off the weight of the original CGK version, which can only help it's light wind performance.

Let's just say I fly on a very poor site in terms of both size and wind quality and I am convinced enough about its low wind capabilities to have ordered one.

I find the sf fine in light/variable inland wind as Jon say's Chris fly's these sites all the time. I see him give a great arena performance at Brighton kitefest last year which is set in a tree lined valley, you can't get worse than that. I think if you'r used to flying inland anyway it won't be too much of a problem.
I think the flouro colours work really well on the sf :)
