Post by: WestAustralian on January 20, 2013, 08:11 PM
Hi all.
New around here, but been flying Single, Dual and Quad for years.

I have a set of Stacked Diamonds that I a re-rigging with new line to get a bit more strength.
The Stack will have 25 Diamonds in it when I am done.

I am mentioning it here to push myself to finish it.
So feel free to push me ;)

If anyone can tell me how to imbed pictures It would be great.

Thanks for looking.

They look really nice.
I'm in WA too. Let me know when you try for 25 as I'd love to see that in the air. Might be able to assist too.

25 kites, you would need a panoramic shot to get that!

Was good fun to fly with you today.

Love the colors and a matching lead kite, Super Duper  ;)

A full train of 25 should fly out on their own in a fair wind...

Look forward to seein' 'um all together, what size are they? And, who makes the lead kite?

Thanks Dude...

The Diamonds do fly on their own. The Big kite is an anchor to take the wobble out of the stack.
When I put up 12 without it the last diamond swooped around so much it pulled the whole thing around.
The top 2 kites even did a few Loops....

The Diamonds are 720mm x 570mm.

The Diamonds are "Windspeed Kites", I think the Anchor kite is the same brand.

Thanks for posting the Picture and thanks for helping to launch, land etc.

The stack is at the full 25 now, and I hope to be able to stake it down next time.

You might be able to find some old info around the web by the late Al Hargus' eddy trains.  He had a lot of info about stabilizing a stack of eddy's.  His trains were awesome to see fly.  They were some of the most stable stacks I've ever seen.  Kitelife used to have a book of his online, but it seems to be gone.  There is also some info on the kitebuilder forums that he posted back in 2004 before he passed.
