One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Sorry to say it bell, but i have a laima and it's the worst kite in my bag by far. It may work great in beach winds, but where i live, in a bumpy 6-8mph inland breeze the kite pulls it's own spreaders apart from the spine.
it also won't stay flying for more than a couple minutes without falling off one side of the window and flying into the ground. It's a beautiful kite, one i paid over $100 for new, and it was nothing but a disappointment. It's not even one i'd hang on a wall as it would be a reminder of the frustration.

great video though, very pretty.

Hi Fidelio,

These two Laimas were flying with wind  3-8mph. With your description that might has problem on the connecter for spin and the spreader. Please check if the hole for spreader to plug in is too big or the spreader can not plug all the way in.
For the falling off on side issue, please check if both side of the wings are even angle and not twisted. If the kite still falling off one side you can try to pull the tow point up 1cm to increase lift and reduce the pull and the kite should be more steady.
But when you want to flying light wind or indoor that need to pull the tow point a bit down to increase the pull.
Hope this will help!

thank you for the reply, and advice of help, but i have long ago written the kite off as a loss. it has only flown a couple of times but on each occasion, i have to resist the urge to break it in half and leave it in the trash bin, so it lives safely out of sight at the bottom of my kite bag. i don't even have line to fly it anymore as i gave the line away along with a golden wala to the young son of a visiting friend.
