One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I recently purchased a kite called the "Mission Cross Box Set" kite.

It is actually a set of 3 identical box kites that you can fly seperately, fly as a train, or combine into one kite.

I had no problems assembling the individual kites, but the instructions do not show how to combine the 3 kites into one larger box kite.

The kite comes with 12 velcro strips, which are called "magic tape" on the package, but for the life of me, I can not figure out how to use them to hold the 3 kites together.

The kite is manufactured by a company called "Go Fly A Kite", and I have contacted them as well.

I am also adding a picture of the kite.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

hmm..go fly is long gone as a company... they were purchased by JAKKS and the Go FLy part got wrapped up and shelved...probably got some old stock....

the easy answer is that you just wrap the velcro around the long spars while holding two boxes next to one another....

with box kites that are identical you can have some fun with the configuration of them too...

you can set them up in the V formation.....
you could set them up so that all three are side by side in a flat orientation....
you could stack them one on top of another....
these last two versions would make you have to fit a simple bridle...good to learn......

you can get some ideas of configurations to play with by searching for Buffalo Box Kites (sadly Dan's company is long gone but you can find some amazing pictures of set ups he did)

picture swiped from F-flying

btw where are you located?
