One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I fully appreciate the ability of trees to attract kites. They have special powers that way.

Looks like you guys may have beat the odds for some nice weather and wind today?

How was the wind?

I see tomorrow looks rainy and 20 mph, but let's hope that they are wrong once again.

Nice day in Seattle, but no reasonable winds.

The wind was typical Whidbey Island for this time of year: somewhat variable and light, dwindling to virtually nothing for an hour or so and then a wind direction change and a nice, light steady breeze. The main thing is, the rain gear stayed in the bag.

Whidbey Island is one of my favourite festivals, it's so scenic and the raffle & Swap tents are always fun.
A few pics from yesterday:

Looks like very strong winds today, I'll get a chance to fly that Freilein Windrider quad.  Huh

We pulled out today @12:30................in fact, we never got out of the car.....just sat inside and observed.  At the moment of our departure the rain had just begun with sustained winds 18-20 and gusts measured at 36 mph.  I believe fall has arrived here in the PNW  Cry  Time to watch football.....GO HAWKS!!!
