One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

P3
« on: September 27, 2013, 12:49 PM »

The P2 (Pierre Terbogt and Pim Kusters) was pimped by Peter Maternus.
I built one and I think the new kite should be named "P3".

It looks like a bridle position set similar to that used with Benson kites that have the Inner positioned lower than the Center T.  Still not sure what purpose that serves or how it affects flight controls.

I would love to see what the exact function of that serves also.

It looks adjustable to me - why else have a slot for it?  I'll bet that there is also a C-clip at the top that we can't easily see.

the centrecross is knotted (http://www.drachenforum.net/artikel/zeige_artikel.php?id=113), there is a stopperclip above en below the centrecross (visable in the picture)

the bridle is tied about 2 inches lower, also at the outhaul (check the first picture, you can see it there)

i don't know why... peter made it this way

Interesting centre t idea. Is it the same as the TNT zero. What is the grey on your lower spreaders at the t?
Nice kite great accessorising, love the coloured thread.

the grey is just a bit of tape to support the lower spreaders, i wanted black, but i only got grey left Smiley

the p3 is a bit different from the p2

 - slightly other upper spreader
 - different bridle
 - bridle aabout 2 inches below connectors
 - bridle-centre-T
 - one standoff left
 - maybe a different positions for the apa's (not sure about that)

i think the site will be updated in a while

you can easily change your p2 to a p3!

Excellent! Ihave two p2 right now... different frames and sail materials, but I would love to alter one and compare them.  I'll keep my eye out for the updated dimensions.

Sorry I couldn't get to the east coast of italy.  My motorcycle reservations didn't work out and now we are into france, then home.

No news on kareloh.com, I'm still waiting ...  Sad

The delay is completely my fault. I've been working on getting the specs up on the website... Krijn made some nice detail pics to accompany the text.
I'll try to find some spare time to finish it.
