Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hello my friends!

Please forgive my silence/absence from the forum for a few months... much has been happening, not the least of which included a move to a new house (my wife and I are renters, which does not lend itself to staying in one spot for long).  The new place has a great space for my studio, a free standing building in our backyard.  It started as storage for much of our things, but now as I clear it out, I've had time to start on a new workspace!  The first project, despite being in the middle of 5 (yes 5!) kite builds, is a new work bench.  As you can see in the pictures, I finished the base today.  The final bench will be 34" high with a top that is 72x24" (with a 12" rear extension for a total of 36" depth).  While it will be simple, the top will be 1.5" thick.  The completion of this bench will also mark the first time I can lay my kite plans out flat on a solid surface (other than the hardboard I've been using in the past).  A 6' wide surface will also ease the job of preparing spine seams!

Anyway, take a look at the space and my workbench in progress... with the knowledge that hopefully in January I'll be posting pics of my Magnet, LeQuartz (third build), Monster, Sano SSL+, and Lilith builds! (followed shortly with a 3 year old sail design that I never took to build status and possibly a new Supernova if Davide gets plans posted).

Now for the pics! (not too exciting for you, but they make me happy!)

And if you're not board to death, check out the "Website discussion" section for some photos of my month long trip to Europe.

Looks like a fantastic work space!  Let me know when you are going to hold your first kite making workshop!

Nice sturdy table base.  That table top leaning against the drill press looks like a piece of furniture  Smiley

that table you mention will eventually be set up at the end of the room.  I've got a ton of clean up and organizing to to to make the space usable again!

Nice looking shop.  I just moved mine to another room in the house while I wait for my fabric to be delivered.  I look forward to see your next builds!
