One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I don't know if he was a kite flier or not, but I know his music touched many of us and especially older fliers here.

TACOMA, Wash. ó

A friend and musical collaborator says Bob Bogle, co-founder of The Ventures rock band, has died at age 75.

Ventures co-founder Don Wilson tells The News Tribune of Tacoma that Bogle became ill over the weekend and was taken to a hospital, where he died Sunday.

Bogle, who recently lived in Vancouver, Wash., had reportedly been in frail health but saw his band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2008.

Bogle was the architect of the distinctive guitar sound of The Ventures' early hits such as "Walk, Donít Run" and "Perfidia."

Bogle's death was also confirmed on the group's Web site.

The band got its start in 1958 in Tacoma.

The group's manager did not immediately reply to an Associated Press e-mail seeking family contact information.

I still have my original "Play Guitar With The  Ventures" album, "Walk Dont Run" was one of the the first songs I learned on the guitar along with "Raunchy", and "Tequila"

The Ventures "Walk Don't Run"

I had quite a few of their albums, I now have most of their catalog on MP3, England had a similar group called "The Shadows"

Bob Bogle will be missed

I just remembered, cant forget Pipeline by "The Chantays"
