Can't quite figure out the appeal of these overly constrained kites.
They may be overly constrained, but they've allowed me to fly in places with excellent wind, but very unforgiving grounds. The wind off the Point is lovely and smooth, but Heaven help you if you land anywhere except a few narrow clear spots. Constraint helps immensely, plus landing on the driftwood is good practise and fun.
It's oddly satisfying to do a long skim along the water. I find it very relaxing. I wouldn't last 30 seconds flying there on an overly permissive dual liner, but I fly here all afternoon regularly.
