One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I just visited Jon today and picked up a yellow Prismatex Solus he had in the shop. These are outstandingly gorgeous kites! Devin, your blue Solus pair are stunning;  I hope to see them in a video once spring comes.

OK, let's see if I have this image insertion figured out.

here is a shot of the yellow Solus I picked up yesterday:

You will notice that it is one of the early prismatex sails without the additional trim. Still quite beautiful to me.
Now if this Michigan weather would cooperate I will test it out and see how it flies compared to my original Solus.

I definitely prefer this version over the one with extra trim!

Jim, would you mind bringing that to a wednesday fly or so sometime after it warms up? I'd be curious to try that one. Never got a change to fly the original. Would love to maybe mess around with pairs or get these two kites in the sky together.

I would not mind at all. It will be fun.

I flew it about two hours yesterday in 15 degree weather, 10 mph fairly steady wind. Had a blast. It feels just a bit different than the first Solus I retired. This one tracks better  than the first (and the first was not too shabby). I do want to try an additional 5 or 6 grams on the tail though.

Did you have a Comp solus, or the original? The Comp is a better tracker and better with pitch due to new balance points.
Cant wait to do some pairs work. Enjoy the kite!
