My new Sixth Sense, beautifully built by Krijn, just arrived today!

I already gave it a try this evening and I found it amazing.
I think I'm going to be good friends with it  Grin

Here are some pictures:

As you can see Krijn's hands did a great job.

I <3 it!

Thanks Krijn!

Very very nice Ara, love the colours!

You are a lucky man to have such a beautiful beach to fly your new toy on, I got my DS in December and so far I've only manage to fly it, briefly, once!.....high winds, heavy rain for weeks, my flying field is mud and kites come home filthy Cry

I hope you have a lot of fun with it!

By the way, I'm trying to work something out for Filey in June but no promises yet. Wink

Hi,

Thanks for the comments.
I had a short second fly and I really like this kite.

Here's a short video for you to see how the kite looks in the air and a couple of tricks it is allowing me to do which I couldn't with the other kites as easily, namely: JL & Taz.
You will see little continuous flying because the wind was gusty, variable and dirty despite flying on the beach  Sad
Anyway, here it is and look for the grand finale  Wink

Kewl!  Thanks for posting the vid.  She does look good in the air, too.

Interesting how guest stars like stupid dog tend to have a much higher likelihood of hitting the stage when stupid wind is already there.  In good wind, they are much less prone to causing much trouble, of course.  It gets particularly exciting when the threesome is completed by real stupid dog owner...

However, the stupid dog is not mine! (or did I misunderstand that...?)
Cheers.

Good try Steve!  Cheesy
And if I can teach you anything at Filey it will be my pleasure, although I'm afraid you will be teaching me much more than I will...
Cheers!

Thanks Krijn.

Yes, despite being at the beach, at this time of year the winds are all coming from inland, so they are dirty because the city blocks them.
And the worse part is that when winds are good in these beaches, the weather is also good and they are full of people!
So little chance of flying in them except at extreme times...
 Sad

Anyway, back to the SS.
I really like it. Feels robust, stable, smooth and controllable.
The only thing that is eluding me now is the backspin...
With my Soul and the Talon UL I get backspins really easy, but with the SS when I try them the kite does half a spin and wants to come out of it.
So this helps me in the JL but makes backspins difficult.
I'll keep trying.

No, I did not think it was your dog.  If it were, then you would be real stoopid.  Still, I would not discuss opinions like that in public.  Flame wars are pretty bad style, IMHO.

What I meant to say is that "misbehaving" of a dog is usually the owner's fault.  A reasonably trained dog will not chase a kite.  Or only once, until it is told not to.  And a non-stupid owner will not encourage that behavior (as it happened to me in Berkeley) or do things like throw their ball right across kite lines (which also happened on a few occasions).  Fortunately, our own dog never showed any interest in kites anyway.
