Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

That is stunning. I wouldn't have been able to figure it out.

How long do you think it will take to put together now that you're an expert?

hmmm...not my kite....just in my possession between owners.....well...waiting for a new owner.....

it is about 8' tall and 8 ' wide at the biggest cells....

Bobby is one of the best kite builders ever....his design work was not just impeccable sewing and applique but also almost all custom fittings (that Steve Ferrel is allowed to make now).....the amount of time to build this kite is easily 50-76 hours....

To assemble it to fly takes a good 15 minutes....the ends of the cells (outboard) all have thumbscrew fittings...that is so that you can tension this kite perfectly....and that would be the MOST time consuming part of flying it...something i did not do for these pictures.....i just wanted to get pix of it together!!!!

attached is its sister kite....rumor has it that there are only 4.....

That sure is a handsome kite, bet it sparkles in the air. No assembly instructions, a true Bobby kite, but the the assembly is always logical, just sometimes the logic escapes me for awhile.  -karen
