One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Wow, John, that's some really disappointing news.  We're all so sorry to hear that.

Chilese (autocorrects to "Chinese", BTW) not coming to Kite Party has huge effects.  Some examples include:

1.  I didn't bring my "good camera", thinking John would surely take up the slack.

2.  There will be many fewer snap stalls on the field this year.

3.  The auction could get VERY expensive for me.  (This makes me very nervous, truly.  Marjorie, however, said "Think of the possibilities!").

John, you are absolutely a key player in the Kite Party vibe.  You will certainly be missed.  Some of the other regulars, too.  We will fly extra hard this weekend!

I did get a lucky shot of Demetri flying this evening.  (Well, it did take me 4 tries...). I'll post it once I figure out how.  I can't resize it on my iPad to meet the 100k limit.

All the best , John.  I hope you are okay.

I thought you would be too busy running the greatest kiting event of all.

Hi Dave. I am extremely sad to have to miss my first Kite Party.  Cry

Tough to write a reply when 2 Davids are above your post.  Cheesy

I'm looking at the HB webcam:

http://hbcams.com/live/beach-overview.html

And am happy to see a sport kite in the air at 9:15 this morning.

Of course, I'm sad too seeing it and I'm here in Las Vegas.

I'd fly today, but the winds look to be about 25 as I gaze out the window.  Huh

You are missed, and you are referenced often. It isn't the same without you here.

Did a brand new Benson Inner Space really go for $200?

And what was the price for the super custom Quantum Pro?

Dave you throw the best event ever. It honestly hurts me to

not be there. You are the man.

Best KP auction I memory. Not only was the bidding loud, the auctioneer a goofball and the selection immense, but prices were mostly up by quite a bit from years past. Few shamefully low wins. The Quantum Pro was hotly bid up to a very cool $1k.
