One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I received a polite and informative email from Jim yesterday. We've met a few times at Kite Parties and I've photographed the new Skydog kites for him.

Here is an excerpt from his email on the included lineset of the Thunderstruck:
_____________________________

Our entry level kites have been offered with that line set because of the price point issue we are up against in shops and therefore the choice of dacron.    You might find that to be a common occurrence with lower priced entry level kites.

We will add copy to the header that explains better line is recommended for optimum performance.  And we'll offer a quick reference on how to check/adjust line length prior to flight.

I know that all of us at Skydog are sorry to hear about your disappointment and we want to send the young man you helped out (or you) a new spectra line to use with that kite.

Please let me know where to send the line set and we'll get one out ASAP.
______________________________

The kite in question was under evaluation and not purchased so I wrote back to Jim thanking him for the offer but explaining it wasn't needed.

Jim's promise to add copy explaining the line and his overall demeanor in this remind me once again that there are many good people on the business side of kiting.

Jim is one of the best in the business.  One thing that I have found with talking with Skydog and Jim is that they are very serious about customer service and making sure that the fun of kiting comes first.

I agree fully - a class act! Smiley

Good one on ya Jim.

Jim sent us a complete frame set for a Premier 19' delta when all we wanted or asked for was the spec's. A genuine concern for the end customer that he was fighting with in his old position. I was really glad to see him join up with Skydog at the start and wish them the best, if service counts for anything Jim is a strong person to have on your team.

Met Jim before SkyDog, nice enough guy then too.

I hope that SkyDog can help revive this great/fun sport. I believe they have something other startup kite MFG did not. They have so much depth in experience with all aspects, design, construction, packaging, competition, and marketing from the get-go.

And one other thingthey have, this forum, the quickness to which Jim responded on the line issue means they are open to feed back and want to correct problems
