Anyone know the diameter of Icone White? I need to get some new yo yo stoppers and not sure if I need to get 6mm or 7mm and what is the difference between the soft and hard stoppers? Thanks!

When in doubt, buy both sizes and spares of each. The postage will be the same and you'll have back ups to use if you lose one or want to add to another kite.

Soft stoppers are supposed to grab the string or leader line a bit better.

Hard stoppers are supposed to last longer.

For Icone get the largest which I believe is 8mm now which are made for the Icone spars.

Most everyone I know prefer the soft. They are also easier to slide onto tight tapered spars.

Get whatever size you can find and drill them out as necessary.

I'm sure someone will say I'm wrong here, but IMO the hard stoppers work much better than the softs. I am not easy on my yoyo stoppers, when using APA standoff connectors as stoppers they lasted just a few hours before being completely sliced off. It took me 9 months of flying the same kite almost exculsively to cut through a hard.
The softs do not last nearly as long. On a pair that I did not have to drill out, so clearly not something I did drilling them that weakened them, it didn't take long to rip one off. I have also had them rip when sliding them onto spars.

I don't know about them catching the line any better... I have found they do not hold a glue joint as well though, so the likelihood of them turning inwards on a kite with a cutout that allows such movement is much higher. Is there a reason they would catch the lines better other than the lines cutting into the stopper more?

Probably something to do with technique, but I stick to the hard variety whenever possible.

Yep, me too until I added leader lines to my line sets.  Now, even multiple wraps don't seem to dig into the soft connectors.  Maybe that first wrap is always a tight one?

I don't think that is my issue... I have never flown he kites in question without leaders (as they are an integral part of the bridal) and I have never been any good at multi-yoyos so I never do them anymore - maybe someday I will revisit them...
