Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Er... What on earth is this and how come no DM?

That was a present from a well meaning but misguided friend and I do have a Dark Magic (DM) but it's not in the woefully-out-of-date gallery.

Oh yeah.... carbon fibre  Tongue

OK, strictly speaking carbon fibre effect but it'll do for me.

Err... of all the questions I could have been asked I really wasn't expecting that one. Smiley

It was one of.... some.... made for the yoyo worlds or nationals or whenever they could get rid of them. I did get an answer as to when/how many but YoyoJam then went and nuked their forum so...  Embarrassed

IIRC it was 2006 or 2007.

I assume its a plastic with carbon-fib shrink wrap, but it could be a metal too?

Yoyojam hold and rigorously defend a patent on combination plastic and metal yoyos, with the metal outer rims bonded to the plastic, such as with this X-Convict:-

It is indeed a wrap. Under the bearing seats you can see the green plastic beneath.

Definitely an interesting one---but I'll stick with my slightly-old-school wooden one.  DO like that Rev, though.....

It will help for sure but it is the 2010 World YoYo contest so you might not  want to enter, you can learn all kinds of neat tricks, and the players are very nice and will be able to help you a lot. Tell them KCJEWEL sent you, then run  Cheesy. I won second place a few years ago in the modding contest, be sure and check out those guys, all custom built YoYos.
