One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

So who around here owns a Revolution yoyo? I saw a couple new ones for 75$. Kinda $$$ but they're a collectors item nowadays. Why would Rev do yoyos anyways?
My uncle got me turned onto yoing again. The tricks they can do these days even when the string isnt even attached. Whoa!
Hey Rev when you gonna put out a new yoyo?

It's beautifully made, completely weird and not very good.

I have a yoyo or two.  Huh Hmmm... it occurs to me that I haven't added the Higby that the nice people got me for running VF (and a few others). I'll rectify that.

Jeez Mike, you only have 2 hands  Cheesy

Besides being the home of GWTW Chico is also the Yo Yo capital of the World, home of the World Yo Yo Museum and the National Yo Yo Championships.

After the demise of Duncan Yo Yo, Bob of Bird in Hand, Chico's original kite dealer and promoter, aquired the museum holdings including the worlds largest Yo Yo, and became the promoter of the championships.

Nope I don't yo yo never could.

http://www.nationalyoyo.org/museum/generalhistory.htm (no sales of kites or yo yo's so I think the link is ok)

After the demise of Duncan Yo Yo, Bob of Bird in Hand, Chico's original kite dealer and promoter....

My Rev-G was originally stock from Bird in the Hand ("$68.95" !!!), acquired through the magic of eBay. Even back in '00 when it was produced it was clear that yoyos worked within a range of dimensions and ratios and the Rev-G fell well outside these. This guy knows far more about 'yos than I do and reviews it (scroll down to day 7...) pretty much as I do - too weird and cumbersome. The yo-yo's outer diameter was very large, while it's gap was comparatively small making it awkward to hold. A more conventional design with the same construction would have been fantastic.

It's far too large but sits magnificently on fashionable coffee tables.

Mike,
no-one is getting that reference. I do it to amuse myself.

i'm waiting on the mailman but the seller said the rubber was coming off. Now i see what hes talking about. The pics show the inside halves and their seems to be no friction discs. Or am i wrong?
@Mike hi mike see you in SF later on. The museum is another reason to visit Chico!

It's a big o-ring. Head to a hardware store for a replacement or dozen. Then ditch the silly finger loop nonsense too.

This predates friction discs and eschews such fripperies as starbusts for... gap. Hence the adjustable-but-always-wrong reviews.

I don't think anyone has even modded one to greatness, which is a pity 'cos it looks cool even today.
