Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Does anyone have VoIP phone service? How do you like it? Does it work if the power goes out.
Thanks

I have it. Very reliable, but I have reliable buried power lines. The house is only 11 years old. Works as good as ma bell ever did.

We are mostly cell only, but because the kids aren't quite old enough yet we got magic jack and it works great. An IT friend of mine turned me onto it. Worth every very few pennies.

I have it in my house, and install it on much larger scale for my customers. It works pretty well for the most part, but for power outages, you would need a battery backup (UPS) for your equipment. The larger the battery, the longer it will last without power. If you lose power for days at a time (like we do in the North East) it may not be for you.

Correct. But my service (Vonage) has automatic fallback to my cell if their servers can't see my adapter on the net.
