Kite Evolution... Where too next?

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Ok, here is a scary scenario.

Some person puts servos on the leading edges and spreaders with a mini processor - to control the shape of the sail. Attach this to a remote transmitter and you fly the kite by wire. No strings attached.

Next you add sensors and preprogram the processor and the kite will fly the program you designed.  (Talk about VF!)

Then you will have a bag full of retro kites.

I want a kite that will fly so as you don't have to look into the sun. 
Altitude sensing for terrain avoidance. (Learning mode -Anti lawn dart)
Infinite colours that can be changed electrically by use of a program card.
Gust sensing bridles for smooth flight.

You'd need at least one string, otherwise it's hardly a kite. Kites depend heavily on tension; take that away and you have a glider instead. Also an interesting device, but not a kite replacement.

I'm sure we'll see "active" frames eventually, but I don't think the tech is light/cheap enough yet.

Hmm..what are the hardest tricks to do nowadays? Yo-fade, Crazy Copter, Tazes I guess. Combinations of that would be the next step. Double or Triple Yo fades, yoyo copter, yoyo-ed taz cascades.

Maybe trick kites will evolve in the direction of stupid easy yo fades, tazes, backspin cascades etc such that the flyer will then push the ante up to a new level with these "level 5" combo-ed tricks.

While of course still maintaining accessible precision, axels, flatspins etc. The Cosmic TC seems to go in that aspect of making harder tricks easier but easier tricks harder, definitely not without some sacrifice and overall adjustment of technique.
