Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I believe I read on the Rev forum that the designer decided a black background looked best.  I do not remember reading anything about the design being printed on black fabric.

OK sublimation sounds good.
However, I just cannot believe that printing on black the colors show well on both sides!
Either they printed both sides or they printed on white Icarex where the final black background is also printed with the sublimated dye.

I'm with Ara here, although admittedly I do not know anything about the printing process so I could be completely wrong.  However it's done, the kites sure look nice.

Edit: Remembered about a picture I saw of the printed kite skins before they were made into kites.  Found it here: Looks like a border of white fabric to me. Smiley

YESSSSS dragonfish! Well done!
My intuition did work. You can see it is actually white Icarex and the black is also printed together with the rest of colors.
It would have been very strange that colours should lokk as bright as they do had it been printed on black material.

In my bag...
Duals: NoName (NoBrand), Nexus (Prism), Soul (Flying Wings), Talon UL (JoE), LeQuartz (own build), Illusion Classic (Prism), Aura SUL custom (Skyburner), Sixth Sense STD (Krijn)

Good job at solving the 'mystery' of the background color! I must have misunderstood what I had read about the background ripstop material! Thanks for clarifying.

At any rate ...they did an excellent job and I agree Steve ...they are "pretty" Revs!
