One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Flying Wings Duende has been around for a while with the 2.2 meters version. This Year there is a new member in the family: The Duende 2.4 with 2 flavors U.L. and Std.

I've had this kites for 1 week and flown them for about 3-4 hours each.
Comparing the 2.4 vs the 2.2 and there are some differences

Generally with both the Std and the UL These are my point of view based on my first impression:

  • Speed  & response: The 2.2 is a faster kite compared to the 2.4
  • Tracking: Duende 2.4 is better than the 2.2
  • Fades: I find the 2.2 easier to handle fades that the 2.4
  • J.L.: The 2.2 is easier than the 2.4
  • Taz: Here the 2.4 shines...  its easier than the 2.2
  • BackSpins: I'll say its about the same level
  • Yo-yo: The 2.4  with the lines rolled up flies better than the 2.2. Both kite have about the same amount of pitch
  • Half axles: Both kites are great
  • Tip Stands: The 2.4 is easier to maintain a Tip Stand than the 2.2
  • Turtle: Its better with the 2.4
  • lazy Susan (multiple): The 2.4 by far is better.
  • cyniques: I can do them with the 2.4. haven't been able to do them on the 2.2
  • Slides: The 2.4 its easier to maintain a slide.

About the construction Quality I can score these kites high.  I fly with tricks and that's equal to kite abuse... My 2.2s has kept up with me for a while without any issues. I have to consider that I mostly fly over grass and that helps to maintain the kites.

Generally speaking I consider the Duende 2.4 an Improvement over the 2.2 for most cases.  Smiley
