Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

There's usually not much space left over for dualies or quads, but don't let that deter you if you can find a small patch of space to fly in.  SLKs are all over the sky.  Usually towards the end of the day after the festival ends and everyone starts packing up, the fields open up and you can play or early in the morning before the festivities begin.  I generally won't pull out a kite unless I'm competing, doing a demo on the main field, or working one of the dealer demo fields.

Hey Dano,

Didn't make it there last year, and I moved rather far away this year, but from what I remember....

Arrive early, maybe 9-ish, and you can fly on the lower fields without anyone bothering you. Down side is that at that early hour, both the competitors and the wind aren't yet up. So, take your SULs.  Later in the day, I've had the best luck going over the far fence to dogland. Hang out with Jim Strealy (Ozonejim) Brian Champie, and maybe Dan Whitney. The ground's a bit rough, so I've usually flown quad over there, but you could fly your "rougher" kites too. Watch out for the chimney down around the lower path, it's real and usually very hot. Heard rumors of kites getting melted/stuck to it.  If things get too hairy, go over to the Rev and Prism demo areas and thrash their kites instead of yours Cheesy Cheesy

Both my bosses say I have to work that weekend.  Something about taking off most of this month already. Cry  I might try and sneak down after work for a couple hours on Saturday.  Probably be on the motorcycle, so hard to bring any kites.
