Hello all,
The results from NJSKC 2009, as well as the Final 2009 Eastern League standings, are now available on the EL web site (link below). I'll be sending out a separate email to the jacket winners, but here's a quick review of the criteria. To win a jacket, one must:
1. Place in the top 3 in 1 or more Eastern League disciplines
2. Have competed in at least 2 Eastern League events
3. Score at least 50 Eastern League points
So, congratulations to all the winners! Well done everyone! Also, congratulations to Rosanna Rosanova, Monica Orso, Joel Brown, and Deb Heid for putting on a fantastic event last weekend. NJSKC '09 was a huge success - there were somewhere around 35 competitors, and I thought that the crew did a great job in keeping the events flowing, and spreading out judging assignments so that no one got stuck standing out on the field too much; which was good, it was hot out there! I've been preaching better organization for our events for the past few years, and NJSKC is a great example of how to do it right.
The first event of the 2009-2010 Eastern League season will be the 23rd! annual OBSKC at the Wright Brothers Monument in Kill Devil Hills, NC on October 17-18. There are a few folks who are working on putting together some new EL events (and bringing back some old ones!), but we need MORE! If you have any interest in starting a sport kite comp in your area, let me know, I'm glad to help!
Thanks,
--
