HQ BatKite 
Very shallow sail depth (all windforce directed aft for speed). Not a boutique kite, but pretty good quality for a production kite. Not as fast as a Tiger II, but less expensive (@$140) and easier to obtain in the US.
Needs wind (as most speed kites do....). Lower wind range is 5mph, but the further north of 10mph it is, the happier the kite is. Upper wind range is quoted at 38mph. I haven't had a chance to test the upper wind range yet. In winds which make talking to friends more than 10 feet away an act of futility, the kite feels a rock solid and it moves.... well... like a bat out of hell. Hard to believe that only 6mm carbon frames the kite.
As it jets across the wind window, it will generate a surprising amount of power for a kite with a 79" wingspan (220 lb. lineset recommended, not included). In the upper wind range, you will start leaning back without realizing it. If you get distracted when the kite is going through the power zone, it will force you forward a couple of steps.
2 battens per side which also tension the leech line keep sail flutter to a minimum. When the wind is howling, the kite is eerily quiet.
Power delivery is fairly progressive, but at the very edge of the wind window the power drop-off is noticeable. You'll be able to feather it, but it is still worth noting.
Somewhere during all this, you will find yourself giggling on the inside. A bit of a niche kite, but when the right conditions prevail, it's a great one to have in the bag.
