It's a good thing I had a friend that pre-warned me about the realities of the Squaw Valley kiting venue or I would have been very disappointed to say the least.

The flying field (if that's what you want to call it) was nothing but rocks and weeds. I guess if I had been sitting on the small patch of grass listening to the Blues music, playing with my dogs, or drinking beer I wouldn't have much of a complaint.

The wind was horrible for a kiting venue and at that altitude (8200 feet) I have my doubts that it ever gets any better. If I owned expensive kites, Squaw Valley would be the last place I would fly them, no matter what the
FREE offers included.

The scenery as viewed from the
free tram ride up to High Camp was absolutely beautiful.

Included also was a
FREE box Lunch and Dinner and I am certainly glad I didn't have to pay menu prices for them.

The 9th Annual, Squaw Valley Music and Kite, held on July 11th, 2009 was SOOO GREAT!!! We decided to do it again THIS YEAR!
I went to Squaw Valley, but I guess I was on the wrong planet.
