One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I'm just curious if anyone owns or has ever seen a 10,000 dollar dual line kite?Huh

So far I've seen a couple of very expensive dual line kites so I'm merely wondering.  Huh Huh Cool Lips sealed Tongue

Maybe I should take off my beer goggles before I begin to type??? I have a feeling THIS is going to be EXTREMELY funny to read as the days go knowing this group of misfits. Errr, I mean humorous group.  Cheesy Grin

Any comments are whole heartedly welcomed!!!

I'm CERTAIN there are many who've been dieing to type some things but your eye just couldn't stop twitching.  Tongue

Well, in light of recent events I thought I'd give an arena to vent again.  Had no idea that link was ever a post.

I bet, all told, the kite in this video cost over $10k

IIRC there were several large custom kites, a team of kite people sent out to the desert, etc.

I believe an obscene number of Thor's Hammer's were destroyed in the filming of the Audi A5 "Kite" spot

In addition to kites.....

"The spectacular images created during this "driving and flying" exercise were captured by three 35-millimetre cameras, a special camera crane and a helicopter. 440 minutes of film footage was created in all. The crew consisting of 80 people filmed for up to 16 hours a day at temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius. No wonder that the 400 bottles of water and 60 litres of juice consumed per day were just as gratefully received as the 80 bottles of SPF 100 sun cream that were emptied during filming."

75 kites according to the video...   75 Thor's Hammers ?   Huh
What happened to the kites ? Imagine that bag of kites hitting the Swap ?
Everyone who wants one would be really happy !
