THANK YOU for the response about the Skymaster. I was pretty sure that was how to do it (with patience) but it really helps to hear someone tell you that's how to do it.
TWO MORE QUESTIONS: The yoyo stopper is in the way also. It appears that it is held in place with a zip tie. I am assuming you cut the zip tie to get the yoyo stopper to come off and then reinstall with a new one on the new rod

The LE slotted end piece---. Is there a solvent that would allow a guy to get the old one out and reuse it again in the new rod ??
