Replacing broken Skymaster upper LE ???

OK. No luck yet. Can anyone offer any tips for doing this? Must I cut off any parts to get the LE to slide out ? Mike

You may have to remove the stoppers next to the spreader connectors. You will need to work the lower spreader connector up the lower rod until the rod end appears in the cut-out for the spreader connector, you can then remove the rod through the cut-out. Since the C-clip is usually below that connector you shouldn't have to remove anything.

Once the lower is out you'll have to do the same on the upper rod, work the connector up as you work the rod down, again just until the end comes to the connector cut-out then remove the rod. On the upper you'll probably have to remove the stop/C-clip.

Put the connector on the new rod, slip the bridle back over, glue the end-cap back on the end and the internal ferrule. Then reverse the process.

Try to measure the connector locations or mark them so you get them back in the same position. Work the connectors slowly, they can be tough, place 2-4 fingertips right against the rod, brace the rod against your belt or some sort of pad and pull towards yourself, you can only move them as far as the length of the cut-out then you have to slide the rod in the sleeve to get the next couple inches. A little soapy water can help them slide a bit easier, I don't recommend any other lubricant except spit, oil or silicon will stay and the connector won't be as secure as it should be, but soap dries and becomes sticky so no foul.

THANK YOU for the response about the Skymaster. I was pretty sure that was how to do it (with patience) but it really helps to hear someone tell you that's how to do it.
TWO MORE QUESTIONS: The yoyo stopper is in the way also. It appears that it is held in place with a zip tie. I am assuming you cut the zip tie to get the yoyo stopper to come off and then reinstall with a new one on the new rod

The LE slotted end piece---. Is there a solvent that would allow a guy to get the old one out and reuse it again in the new rod ??

havnt used it myself but some say hot water some say acetone you will need a rod of some sort to knock it out as opposed to pulling try tapping it out dry 1st lam uses a lot of tape sooo you will probably have to replace that and there should be pencil marks on the sail where the APA's go otherwise just match the other side carefully basically it is the reverse of taking it apart
