i always travel with a kite...usually it is this kite: Martin Lester Firefly....packs very small...fun to fly...looks cool....
This kite has flown at sea level many times and has flown at 10000'+ at the top of Mount Haleakala on Maui....
and now my lil firefly has flown on the Gulkana Glacier at the edge of Denali National Park in Alaska.......

winds were ripping and then down to 2mph....then ripping again....
air temperature was about 70 degrees while the ice temperature was -well- 32 degrees....and yes i had to be bloody careful to not stab the kite (or Beth) with my crampons too.....
