Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Am I the only one that is getting a non secure alert when logging into this site???

Usually it shows secure and now there's an exclamation point instead. The note says "your connection to this site is not secure" and "you should not enter any sensitive information on this site(for example, credit cards or passwords),because it could be stolen by attackers.

Anyone? Cool Huh

Something is definitely wrong with the certificate of the site. I just tried logging in at work and got the same message.

Nothing is wrong with the certificate, as it does not exist.

This site does not use an SSL certificate.

http://www.gwtwforum.com

If the site used a certificate you would be connecting with https, not http.

You probably are getting a "non-secure" warning because the the site does not use SSL/TLS. More and more browsers and systems are pointing out non-https sites these days. Could be your browser or OS was updated recently and this is why the security notice is new.

As there is no need for credit cards and such on this site, no specific data worries. If you are concerned about what we post about kites being available to the world unencrypted, then maybe you're taking this silly hobby too seriously.  Wink

Of course, if you use the same password on this site as on your bank web site or TurboTax or Amazon, then maybe you need to re-think your internet hygiene...

Uhm....yeah, ok.

All the years I've been on this site I've never seen that alert.

Thanks for clearing that all up. Cool
