OK so I spend the morning looking for great deals while doing some work, that just saves my money to purchase more kites.

How about a 1 terabyte drive for 79.99 that equals less than 8 cents a gig.

Then you can get a external USB drive case for $15 and you have a great storage/backup drive that will work for PC or Mac and even on your TIVO

OK...I got a Mac. 1GB hard drive. Been thinking of getting an external hard drive to store my photos and videos. Don't know a lot about the inner workings. Know just enough to be dangerous. So whats a drive case? Does this thing have a power supply...or does it stay on while hooked to my Mac via USB cable?

tigerdirect has a WD 1tb external drive in a case already, usb connection for $99.
I use it on my dvr. I'm really liking sagetv for the interface for the dvr

Yup. Seagate or Westen Digital. Internal drives w/ a generic enclosure for the win!
