Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

PRIZE: (Quoted from Steve Hall)
See Rule #14

1 Take a picture of the sky.
2 Post the picture in this thread up to 600 pixels across.
3 You may link to a larger photo, but the judges will only use the photos in this thread.
4 Provide a TITLE for the photo.
5 Deadline for the contest is Sept 18, 2009, Noon Forum time.
6 The predominant component of the photo must be clouds.
7 Other elements are fine: airplanes, kites, jet trails, just make sure they take a backseat to the clouds.
8 Judging will be done by Steve and Chris by whatever means they desire.
9 You may change your photo, but only one entry per Forum member.
10 Minor photo manipulation is allowed: crop, resize, Level Adjust, Color Adjust.
11 Major photo manipulation is allowed if you specify that you did so.
12 You will be judged on 2 elements: the photo and the title.
13 Rules may be changed in any way at any time for any reason.
14 The winner will receive a new  Prism Tee Shirt.  Other prizes may be added at the judges discretion.

Below is an example of an acceptable photo, although I am not eligible.

Good cloud hunting. Bonus points if you are hit by lightning and it is captured in the photograph.

Warm up your cameras.

Details soon.

Steve doesn't even know about it yet.  Cool

Heck with that.... I am warming up the smoke machine.  PITA to get it back on the roof though.  Hopefully no one calls the police this time.

Shot with iPhone.  Maybe these are more common than I'm aware of?

Southern Ontario was recently hit with some tornados and a friend sent me this one at a ski resort that I spent a lot of time at. Did some major damage to facilities and surrounding chalets and cottages.

Since it's not mine, not an entry

contrails are not clouds

But those are chem trails, and they are the beginnings of man made clouds.

I did NOT take these pictures.  I just wanted to share pictures of lenticular clouds over mount Rainier here in Wash. state.

contrails are not clouds

Ansel Adams called them "Sky Snails"   Cheesy

You sleep out in the boonies to get a great sunrise shot of Mount Whatever, and wake to find a streak across the sky that takes forever to dissipate. After this kind of thing ruins a few big efforts, you get kind of an attitude.
