One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

That he did. And looking at your avatar reminded me that I somehow missed getting a front-on pic of your awesome trains, Kevin. Great sense of humor.  Cheesy

Hope you don't mind but I put together a little grouping of the soft kites so others could see them.

Great pictures Bob.  I made it to Long Beach a week late  Cry  Flew there last Wednesday, just enough wind for the Ichiban and a roller.  Great beach, great fun - sorry I missed all the excitement of the festival.  Maybe next year.

Hal, we tried for an Ichiban fly on Sat, but the darn Rev world record fly got in the way.  Wink  The closest we got was during the cellular mass ascension, but Boomer was the only one with a true BMK Ichi up. SKB and I flew our QISC Ichis. I didn't get my "real" one out until the cody fly.

If you make it out next year, we'll really have to give it a try!  Cool

I hope to be there.  Again, will depend on my daughter's going to school.  I think school will be later next year, so will try to make it work out.  The Ichiban is a fantastic kite, Ken really out did himself with this one!!

awesome set of pictures. really looks like those of us who couldn't attend, missed something pretty spectacular. thanks for sharing. i love seeing those big show kites. now that someone has flown one of those dragons states side, my chances of seeing one fly just went up, yay. i'd only seen pics of them flown in europe so far (but could just be my ignorance too).

so nice also it appears the wind and weather cooperated beautifully for the event.  Smiley

The wind was great ... for those show kites. Us dualy's sat on the sidelines and enjoyed the SLK show for the most part. One of the best WSIKF's in a few years with a big turnout all week long. The far North end was a little sparse at the end of week after Barry & Susan blew the transfer case out on the truck & couldn't pull the trailer down to get everything up. Russ & Diana kept a pretty good anchor up there and helped Barry & Susan get what they could in the air.

I forgot the persons name with the Dragon, he also had the 4 octopi with rainbow tenticles out along with more. Everybody put on a great show, one for the books IMO.
