Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I lived in FL and whenever someone said "bay area" I thought Tampa. Many times they were talking about San Francisco or some other place in CA.

To the OP, Shoreline park in Mountain View is a popular kite flying spot. They even have a designated kite flying area with a little parking lot. I don't know if I'll make it out there during your time frame, but chances are pretty good you'll find someone there. Might be quad fliers though.
