One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Spending part of the winter in Arizona, doesn't appear to be a lot of kiters here.  Looking for flying fields around Sun City West and Green Valley.  Flying both quad and single line kites.  Appreciate any suggestions.

I am interested in Phoenix kite flying too.  We are going there next month.

I did find this Facebook page about folks who fly in Phoenix that may be of interest:  https://www.facebook.com/phoenixkitecollective/

And this Kite Festival in Fountain Hills in March:  https://festivalnet.com/63370/Fountain-Hills-Arizona/Festivals/Kite-Flying-Festival

Good luck,  J.

Found Asante Community Park about five minutes northwest of Sun City West has a large double soccer field area that is ok.  Trees to about 12' - 16' high on east and south sides.  Away from schools adjacent to a new subdivision, not many people using it the 3 times I was there.  Winds were light, out of the south.

Quail Creek Veterans Park about 5 miles north of Green Valley has a large (2-3 acres) dirt area to fly at. One tree dead center in the middle of it, easy to avoid.  Open country so winds are pretty good.  Have flown there numerous times, wind seems to shift some but not bad. Nearby soccer fields get a lot of use and have high tension power lines along one side, not a place to fly.

It's been many years since I've flown in Phoenix.

Fountain Hills use to be nice. Winds are low most of the time.
