One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

After a few years hiatus to finish college, get hitched and buy a house (Will is something of an overachiever...)

From FB:

Sturdy Designs

We're back! My wife Kelly and I have bought a house and settled down, so I am a kitebuilder-without-a-shop no more. Sturdy Designs now has a dedicated workshop, which means we are back in business! So what can you expect in the coming weeks and months?
-New tooling is in the works for the Chiroptera and I am making a few little improvements along the way. More to come.
-New single line designs. I've got some ideas that have been bouncing around in my head for a while... Maybe it's time to let some out?
-We have been contracted to build sails for some other builders, and are involved in some very interesting projects. More to come when things go public.
Are you looking for a high-quality builder for your design? We are set up for all sorts of contract and production work, and are looking to expand in that area.

I have a standard Saber II, #21 made in October 2010, purchased on the secondary market.  Notice it is the same layout as on the Sturdy Designs web page.  It's a very well made kite & now I have hope to add more fine kites by Sturdy Designs.  Great News!  SHBKF

The Saber is fantastic all-round kite, capable of most every trick and allows you to effortlessly chain them together. It also flies very nice precision, making it a great choice for competition. The wind range is huge too, the STD flies very low with practice (Will used to compete on a STD in conditions where we'd all be using UL's) and its better in big winds than mostly similarly sized kites, managing speed and pull admirably.

Interestingly, I had Saber 11 #1 and didn't get along with it very well. I passed it onto Krijn, who didn't click with it either.  My major issue was with cascades where it would pull round into a fade.  It's one of my go to tricks and I've never had another kite do this.

I seem to recall having some dialogue with Will at the time about there being bridle differences between the first production model and the later ones, but can't find any sign off the email now.

The Saber was probably a lot more user friendly by version 2.0, which is the version I had and competed with.

3.0 sails had more typical nose construction (which would likely wear better) and nylon panels? in the sail.

But it was with a Saber 1 that Will *caned* everybody at Tricks Party ... most everything he pull off with wrapped and the
routine's complexity was off the charts.

though i haven't flown his duals, the chiroptera is an amazing kite. definitely a top favorite in my bag. when the wind is 0-2mph, it's such a zen experience to fly. only problem is i need something longer than the 75' line i fly it on. i don't have enough good words for this kite.

(edit: congratulations will on all you've been up to. Grin)
