Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Frequently Asked Questions

 How do you pronounce s4ve.as?
    * "Save As"

What is s4ve.as?
    * s4ve.as is an easy way to quickly share any file, anywhere, with anyone. Never worry about email attachment limits or FTP to quickly send large files to colleagues, friends and family.

How does it work?
    * Simply upload any file of any size for free and get back a link to that file good for 24 hours. Copy and paste the link anywhere and share it instantly via email, web page, instant message, status update, tweet, etc. Links are automatically shortened using bit.ly.

 Who is behind s4ve.as?
    * Our team includes former Napster, Sony and Ericsson executives.

How do I know when my link will expire?
    * Your link will redirect you to the file's landing page where you can see what date/time the link will expire.

 What happens after 24 hours?
    * After 24 hours the link expires and the file is deleted. Please note: Files cannot be recovered after the link has expired.

What if I need my link to be active for more than 24 hours?
    * s4ve.as is considering options to allow users to extend the life of links and files. Stay tuned!

Can I delete my link before the 24 hour expiration?
    * No, not at this time. s4ve.as is considering options to allow users to delete links and files early. Stay tuned!

Can I get information about who visited my link and who downloaded my file?
    * Yes. Simply add a '+' symbol to the end of any link and you'll be redirected to bit.ly's statistics page with detailed traffic information (e.g. http://bit.ly/xxxx+).

Nice, a little time limited though at 24 hours but then that might not be a bad thing for many uses, like when you don't want your work out there for anybody to grab for a longer period.

There are some similar services, all the free ones I've seen do have some sort of time limitation, one I saw would delete the file after a week of nobody accessing it.

With attachment sizes limited through most email servers now these can be very handy services. Even a 10 megapixel raw image exceeds the limits of many email servers since that can run over 15 meg for one picture.

Worth a bookmark.

I've had good results with YouSendIt.com , which lets you send filesup to 1GB for free, and they stay up for a week, then vanish. Multiple addresses OK, recipient gets a message with a download link. You get the link, too, in case you want to send it to others (during that week). Very handy.
