One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Starting this new thread to make it easier to find in the future. This will be a series of videos showing how I build kites, and hopefully some good insight for those who want to start making their own.

Tutorial #1 and it's addendum (#1A)

Video #1 is a screen capture looking at www.kareloh.com where the plans can be downloaded, along with some other fun stuff such as a colorizer and building tips for [Return].  Also on www.kareloh.com there are quite a few color examples.  Posted below is the color layout intended for this build.  I'll add photos to the thread to accompany the tutorials.

https://youtu.be/9kOIxOx9y_g

The addendum is a quick example of why you need to double check your prints - no matter where you get them - to make sure they are printed to the proper scale

And a link to Karel Oh's page where [Return] plans are stored; scroll down the page to find the links to the plans and colorizer.

I should mention that after a quick phone call, the online company I mention in part #1A (the addendum to the first video) did offer me a full refund for the prints that were incorrect.  That being said, I do stand by my advice to print locally to verify the job is done correctly.

And yes Krijn, 85% can be fun! but I prefer to do it on purpose!  Cheesy

Very cool! I've shared the youtube playlist on the [Return] plan page.
Pls add the #1A episode to this playlist as well.

Just watched this and am very impressed. Well done!

Must look at the others and those to come.

(It raised in my mind a question about calipers, which I won't clutter up this thread on, but pose elsewhere)

Video #4 is up.  Fabric overview and cutting up the panel templates (not exciting yet, but getting there).

Sorry all for the delay in videos, but good news! I have some new footage recorded, which I need to narrate (problem with the original audio).  I'll work on the editing and voice over this week and try to have the next video posted soon.
