Yes, just on top.
As a glue I always use Pritt-rollers:

I've tried other (cheaper) brands, but they do stick on the needle or are not as easy to handle.
The Pritt does not stick to the needle. I use it everywhere, Icarex on Icarex, Dacrontape, Spinnakertape, reinforcements, ...

I can do about 2 kites with one roller ($5), but for me, that is worth it.

Do you use the permanent or non-permanent?

Good to know Krijn, I have been using the pritt as well since I learned about it from you. Can't find it local so I have to order it online. It is easy to use and haven't had any gumming issues but never did any pinstripe over panel where the taped parts might overlap. I have been wanting to do pinstripes with Mylar Grin.

Permanent.
I've tried the non-permanent, but that one just won't stick.

Also, there is a refillable cassette available, but also: that one does not work for me.

Wow, good lookin' kite, Krijn. I never would've thought of those colors, but they look good. Love the design, too, Bill. Where's the video ?   Grin

It is just spinnakertape, 2.5cm wide. In length cut to strips from 0.8cm wide.
I glue it on top of the seams.

Krijn ...Thanks for taking the time to video & post your Valor video. I'm glad you were able to 'connect' with the Valor. You did a great job of showing the flight attributes of the Valor.
